Northern Ca/Oakland/SF area

Can anyone recommend departments? I would be an out of state applicant. I DO NOT have a college degree. I have two 1/2 yrs experience from Arizona. I'm not post certified. I now live in Colorado.


I know SD/LA are always hiring. Is Northern Cali like this as well? I'm looking for the fairly large departments. Thank you

You have many choices: Oakland PD, San Francisco PD, San Jose PD, Contra Costa Sheriff, Alameda County Sheriff, California Highway Patrol. All of those agencies are taking Recruits/Cadet's and will send you through an Academy. All of the pay in California is competitive, starting around 60k - 70k after the Academy.

dont mean to hi-jack this post...do you guys have any info on good depts in the southbay area. i am out of state as well but will be attending a self sponsored academy through south bay regional. i do not have a college degree either.

San Jose PD is hiring recruits, so is Santa Clara County Sheriffs. Both seem like good departments.
