Hey guys,

So i have my oral Pysch this week for a State LE agency, so my Pysch is with the State Personnel board, how are the Oral pysch's done? I mean is the person going to try to stress me out or is it mostly just a interview to go over my written test and background? Thanks

combination of both. the doc should go over the written portion, if there's any red flags, your background, and maybe some stress questions. good luck

Yes, the doc will try to push your buttons, just don't let him. My suggestion, stay calm and just answer the questions and don't get upset or mad.

I did my oral PSYCH for LASD couple of weeks ago and the interview went fairly quick. I checked-in at his office and sat for couple of minutes before his secretary asked me to wait for him in his office. He came in and we greeted each other and he asked several questions pertaining to some incidents I had in the past. The interview was completed in about 15 minutes. The following questions were asked:

1. How is your relationship with your wife?
2. Why did you decide to leave the military?
3. How is your relationship with your father?
4. Why were your grades so poor in high school?
5. Why do you want to be a Deputy Sheriff?

These were the only questions I remembered from the interview. The psychologist was very professional and polite. I felt no stress during the interview and did not receive any presumed "stress" questions. Hope this reply assisted you.

Thanks everyone!!! i got hired and i start on the 2nd of april!, Psych was not bad. It was done by a real nice guy who did not grill me or anything, we just talked about my results and he had me answer some other questions. All in all it was not too bad
