Whats the difference between the Captain's Interview and the Chief's Interview. The reason why I ask is because in about two days I am going for the Captain's Interview. I already passed the written exam, physical agilty test, poly, preplacement exam and the background investigation. I read that once you're going for the Chief's Interview you're pretty much in. Is the Chief's Interview the same as the going for the Captain's Interview. I am applying for a local PD department. Any advise would be helpfull, thanks.

depends on the department and how they want to run it.
it may be just the captain's interview (final) and being made the formal offer
you may go to the captain and next to the chief... then offer
I think it's the #1 example
good luck.

i always thought of the captain's interview = chief's interview... maybe the chief is busy or it's a large department. i highly doubt you would have a chief's interview with a large department the size of LAPD or LASO.

LBPD "Cheif's interview" is actually an interview with two to three Officers. It would be impossible for him to interview all the candidates. Surely the same for LAPD, LASO, OCSD, etc.

Wow, everytime I had a Captain's or Chief's interview I knew I was in trouble for something. Tried to keep both to a minimum!!!

what if......
I don't get selected and they place me in the six month waiting period, what are my chances after that? Have you or anyone heard of them getting called back in?
I would like to thank everyone that has taken their time in this. Thanks.
