I'm new to this. i have been in the running for over a year now with the PA State. we finished up my second BI in Dec 2006, with PA.. since i live in NJ i had one done in NJ. i havent heard anything since. Question is should i move to PA and will it help my cause? i planned on doing it when i heard something for the med. since i have things going on for a local dept in nj. moving to pa isnt good for that. dream job is a PA State Trooper. And i see the light at the end of the tunnel!!!

Get in touch with PSP human rescources. It sounds like you missed the boat because they put a class through in late January and that was the class you prob were on the eligibility list for.

KBB,

If they finished up your BI in December, your probably looking at a June/July class start. I think that's when the next class starts. The next class graduates the end of this month. They were transferred from Hershey to Greensburg at the beginning of January to finish up with their training.

The current class in the Academy was supposed to be a class of 200. I think around 180 showed up, and last I heared there is about 150 left.

They can run two classes at the same time, depending on the size of each class. I think the class out at Greensburg graduates the 23rd of this month.

As to why some drop out: A lot are just mentally unprepared for what's going to happen. They aren't used to being yelled at or told what to do. They aren't used to consequences for screwing up. Some don't like the PT. Some just don't want to be away from home.

I know when I started the Academy, I was still on terminal leave from the Army. I went in expecting the worst and I didn't think it was bad at all.

yeah your right i still say that if you are going through all these tests and you are really wanting this, offer of a life time that so many people out there try and try and fail at, you just deal with it. You run until your dead and the yelling is life deal with it you have a chance of a life time you dont blow it. thousands of other people dont get that chance and you leave no way. They would have to carry me out in the medivac.
