The vest saved one of our deputies a couple weeks ago. A .45 shot to the back, bruised him badly, but he lived to tell about it. The officer simply got out of his cruiser to question a couple hoods who were in the vicinity of an earlier crime. The bad guy, without warning, pulled his weapon and fired at the officer. Luckily the officer saw it happening and started to dive behind his cruiser, so the round did not hit full force; however, without the vest the medical professionals determined that chances were good that he would have been killed.

Oh yeah, bad guy is in custody, along with his partners. Cleared many robberies with his capture.

Stay safe and wear that vest!

Yes remember to always wear your vest it is a life saver. I was in a high speed pursuit once, we were attempting a stop on a routine traffic violation. The car crashed into a building and the two suspects jumped out and ran. We caught the driver and got back to the scene of the accident where we did aa quick check of the vehicle. We found a loaded .25 auto that they jacked to fire on us, neither one had worn our vests that day. The only thing that saved my life was the top round flipped completely over jambing the gun. I do not know why it did that but I am very grateful of it doing that. I never again forgot my vest it was a real eye opener.

Be safe out there.

Good thing about your vest is that they help you with injuries other than being shot.

I know two guys who would have been killed in traffic collisions were it not for the combination of seat belt, air bag and body armour.

Personally it's helped twice. Once where a drunk woman tried to slash me with a screwdriver and another time when a person hit me across the flat of the back with a two by four. Still hurts but leaves you in the game to finish it.

Stay safe
