I'm interested to hear the opinions of other LEO's on this board regarding the myriad of choices we already have for President.

Being a border cop and dealing with too many illegal immigrants and their issues, I'd love to see Duncan Hunter or Tom Tancredo win, but I doubt they could garner national support given their "fence the border, deport the illegals" type views. Who knows about McCain? Seems like he has a different opinion on each issue based on which one will make him look like more of a "maverick" in the media's eyes. Giuliani is a bit liberal for my tastes, but given his strong law and order reputation for cleaning up NY, maybe he could get the border problem fixed, too. I'm very excited about Romney given his conservative rhetoric. His record, however, is a little dubious....

What do ya'll think? What issues are important to you? Do you see any candidates yet who excite you?

In all seriousness: I am an independent. To me it comes down to the core issuues: economy, how to handle the problems with Iraq, making congress work together instead of just bicker... right now I like Obama for the Democrats and Mccain for the Republicans. I think if elected Mccain would be more in the middle than most Republicans would like to admit and he could help bridge the gap between the two parties. Obama is a bit of an unknown but an exciting candidate an dwould be historic if elected.

Thanks ya'll for the replies. I'll just save you the time and heartache and break it to you now. Don't bother voting for anyone else, Mitt Romney will be the next president :)

(Given my previous .001% accuracy on political predictions, you should probably disregard this one also.....)

i definetly goin with mccain. becuase i cant stand liberals, usaully they have no idea what they are talking about. if hilary gets elected im leavin the country, anybody who thinks gettin outta iraq by '09 is a complete idiot. ask yourself this what happens when we leave? Personally i think iran will take over and iraq becomes a safeheaven for terrorists. that means were all f***ed

Who I'll vote for depends on how the polls are going in my state. If it's not a close call I'll do like I have for the past several years and vote Libertarian.

If it's a close call I'll probably vote for the more conservative of the two canidates.

The ultimate Republican ticket:

Giuliani and McCain

The most un-Republican ticket. Giuliani's taxes and gun control combined with McCain's neverending appeasement of his constituents= a weak presidency.
