I'm watching CNN as I write this: apparentaly, human remains have been found in Rock Creek Park in Washington, D.C. They don't know who it is, but they think it may be Chandra Levy. I don't know if that is good news or bad news. :(

Depends on who you are.
At least her parents will finally have some type of closure.
If Gary Condit killed her he is probably *****ting all over himself right now, if he didn't kill her, he's probably blaming the poor girl for costing him his job. On second thought, he's probably been doing that all along.

It's her!

Oh my gosh, they have actualy FOUND her! I can't find anything on it. Was she buried or what? How sad.....at least her parents have some closure. I think the worst thing in the world would be to have a child disappear and never found out what happened. I've always felt so terribly sorry for John Walsh and his family because they never got the closure of knowing who actualy killed little Adam.
But I bet Specs is right.....Condit is probably scared *****le$$ right now!
Uh Mitzi, that is IF HE DID IT!
I just hope they can find and convict who ever it was. . .

It'd be a hell of a coincidence if she actually was the victim of a random robbery/rape/murder. Whoever did it is probably dancing a jig ... "Yay! I killed someone and Condit gets the rap!"
Get this bastard.

I can bet that he was not teh one who actually killed her but he probably had someone else do it. I can also bet she was pregnant and thats why he had her bumped off. Of course this is speculation.

The police had best take their time, leave her right in place and get every bit of evidence from that site as is possible.
Slow is better.

Local news in DC is playing press conferences from Metro DC PD Chief Ramsey that it is confirmed the body is the remains of Chandra Levy...

Was she buried or what?
The cause of death, etc. is still unknown. But apparently some guy was walking his dog in the park looking for turtles and came across the remains. From what I heard earlier, it's mainly bones and jewelry. Very sad. And I agree with you CrazyinaJeep: Let's get this bastard!

Human remains, even left exposed to the elements, even in her physical conditions can be a treasure trove of evidence and can be enough to put someone away.
This matter has moved up a notch.

I think the same on this one. I think he is guilty as sin. If she was pregnant hopefully there will be some DNA evidence.

Pregnany only means they had an affair (and he did admit to that). It doesn't mean he had her killed.

Here's a map of the area in DC that is very revealing. Of what, I'm not sure, but it sure caught my attention.
CNN page (http://www.cnn.com/2001/US/07/27/levy.map/)
Poor young woman and so sad for her family.

True. It could be a piece to establish motive though.

What do you think the map points to, Friday? One thing anyway, if it was Condit it was an area apparently not too far from his house, and in a secluded area.

I thought he had only admitted to having a "close, personal friendship" with her. Of course, we all know what that means, like Clinton never having "sex" with Lewinsky.

I don't know Badge67, except that you think of interns rooming together in a "cheaper" neighborhood. Certainly not in the high priced neighborhood of a congressperson. Sure made it handy as all get out.
Also, did she know him before DC and moved into his neighborhood on purpose? Was she on her way to a meeting after going to the gym?
The map looks like a connect the dots exercise.

I'm with Specialops on this one. I'm thankfull that the Levy family will get some kind of closure however it's sad about the death of their daughter. On the other hand I wouldn't want to be Conduit.

NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!!!
You heard it here first folks!
DC police are reportedly questioning a possible suspect in the death of Levy. According to the news report I heard, a male, attacked a female jogger some time last year in the same park where Levy was found. The victim survived the attack and the suspect was identified, and is now being questioned about Ms. Levy's death.

I heard about that, SpecOpsWarrior. In any case it would be great if the person who killed Levy is also found guilty of some other crime in the past that(s)he didn't get caught for. Stuff like that happens a lot. How can someone sleep at night with a murder on their mind for 13 months?

Pretty easy, I'd imagine, depending on the person.
SpecOps, there was another guy they were talking about (don't know if this was the same you're talking of) ... he'd attacked two women in Rock Creek Park in the same general area at about the same general time. He was serving 10 years courtesy of the Park Police. They mentioned going to question him about the whole situation.

KCadet, I think it's very easy for a person with no conscience to sleep well after murdering someone.
I never realized what a protected, trusting world I lived in until our ex-daughter-in-law entered our lives. She came across as a very sweet, lovely young lady who loved our son and us very much. None of us has a mean bone in our body. They divorced before they were married a year and the things we found out about her sent me reeling. I had loved her like another child. She called me Mom. We went shopping out to eat, traveled together as a family. She often told me how lucky she felt to have been wed in our family.
Truth was, she had been carrying on affairs while they were engaged and the whole time they were married. I was "Mom" to her, the "Old Biddy" to others. She was sweetness, kindness, love.....yet she told others how she secretly hated us but was just nice to us because someday, after we were gone, she would be rich (news to me).
And her ONLY regret after all was said and done was that she was caught by my son with another man. It wasn't, "I'm sorry"....It was,"How did you find us?"
I could go on with things she said and did even after the divorce. I don't think I will ever completely get over the shock. Even to this day, it gets back to me how she laughs about it.
A person can act like they have a conscience and not have one. Sure, they can sleep nights. It's easy. It simply does not exist for them. The only pain they can feel is their own. They simply can not comprehend another persons pain.
