I'm not a BP agent, but from what I've heard if you want action BP is the way to go. I don't think you'll have anything to worry about. Just remember if you have to shoot someone in the line of duty, don't cover it up. The to agents got into the situation they are in because they failed to report the shooting. Best of luck in the process.

The BP academy is tough, but remember that once you're green (i.e USBP agent), you're always green. Although i'm not with BP, I have worked with several former BP agents, and they were all squared away folks.
As a BP Agent on the SW border, you will see more drugs in a year than most police in their lifetime. But like criminals you encounter on the street, the bad guys (i.e. drug smugglers and coyotes) come out to play at night. So be prepared to work odd hours, as criminals don't keep bankers hours.
The money is good once you become a GS-11 along with the AUO (adiminstratively uncontrolablle overtime). Go to www.honorfirst.com and all of your questions can be answered by current BP agents.

BP is the greatest job I have ever had!!! Long hours like someone else has said but you get paid an additional 25% of you salary because of it.
If you haven't already, go to www.honorfirst.com.

I have the written test on March 8th in Moreno Valley, California and it is compressed testing.
Does anyone know what the approximate timeline is from written test to hire and what the process entails?
From my understanding, they are trying to hire 5000 BP agents. Does anyone have any confirmation or inside scoop on how many positions need to be filled in the Southern California area?
Any information or tips regarding the process would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

If you haven't gone to honorfirst, I highly reccommend it!
Just about any USBP question you could possibly think of is answered there. And if it's not, there is a forum solely for answering hiring process questions.
