Stay in Northern Florida. Go to St Augistine its really nice there. Also, If money is not your worry I recommend Key West its at the tip of the Florida Keys. Let me know if you want more info PM me.

There is also Universal Studios in Orlando, that is a good Disney alternative. Also in Orlando is Seaworld or you can try Busch Gardens in Tampa. It's Florida, we're full of theme parks....

If you're lookin for a nice family vacation look at San Fernandina Beach/Amelia Island. It's up in North Florida about 45 minutes northeast of Jacksonville. The seafood up there is amazing. Also, you can look into Cocoa Beach. You can go to the Kennedy Space Center visitors complex (20 minutes away), go on 4-5 hour long casino cruise (less than 10 minutes away), see any of the theme parks in Orlando (an hour away), or just sit on the beach and hang out (10 seconds out the back door of most hotels in Cocoa Beach). Great seafood in this area as well. If I were coming from out of state I would definately do Cocoa Beach, but I grew up in the area and still live 45 minutes away which is why I first said San Fernandina/Amelia Island.

i just moved down here and live less than a mile to the Sanibel island bridge, that is one of the nicest islands and beaches ive ever been to, if your looking to just sit on the beach all day and relax, without any big attractions or theme parks, id recommend it.

I reccomend the Tampa/Sarasota area. Siesta Key beach in sarasota is wonderful and you are still close to Tampa. Tampa has Busch Gardens as well as one of the best children's zoo. Tampa also has a geat aquarium and tons of other things to do. Good luck

So um yeah. I guess were doing 7 days 6 nights at a days inn in orlando as well as universal, seaworld, and the ripley museum. I want to also go to a beach a couple of the days. Any suggestions on a close one to orlando??

Jump on SR 528 (the Beachline) and head east. You'll be at Cocoa Beach in 45 minutes.

beach? It might be cooooold! but not as cold as NH I guess... I think it's in the 70s right now in the water. Probably about the same outside as well.

Another choice is Busch Gardens for the day. It's in Tampa. It's about 1.5 hours West on I-4 from Orlando. You can go to the beach on that side of Florida as well if you want to see the sun set on the other side ;)
