Cookeville PD

I was wondering if there is anyone on these forums that works for the Cookeville PD.

I just turned in my application yesterday and the HR told me that since the deadline for this times particapation was Dec 29.... so they said it may be June before I hear something when the next one comes around.

But they also said they looked at my application and if anything does come up that they would contact me and if not contact by June to call them back.

I just graduated from Tennessee Tech University in Aug with a 4 yr degree in MIS.

I eventually want to become a detective.

so if anyone on here works for the cookeville pd or has in the past tell me how hard it is to get on there, or if im wasting my time by applying?

Cookeville is a beautiful place. I have family there, and I love the area.......in fact I have cosidered quiting my job and moving there. With all that said, Cookeville doesn't strike me as a town with a MAJOR crime problem. If your goals are to become a Detective, why not apply with Nashville Metro ( or other large Department). I only say this because I started with a smaller Department only to be bored and miserable. Think about it and good luck.
