I plan on getting certified in michigan then after i get a few years in up here moving down there to be closer to my family. does anybody know what is needed to be done be come certifed down there. do i have to go through another academy or take a test or what?

You must be working/hired by a LEO agency in South Carolina to be certified as a LEO in SC. If all you have is a certefication from another state and no LE Experience, then most likely you will have to go through the whole 9 week Academy. Get hired somewhere and they will send you to an Academy. If your certs from Michigan are close to SC, then all you may have to do is a 3-4 week academy. Basic things such as state laws, etc. Best bet is to contact the Academy in Columbia though.
