anyone know anything about garden grove police dept. i believe it's in orange county. i'm in law enforcement in new york and my fiance and i want to move out west. any info. or insight would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I have a buddy that has worked there pretty much since he graduated high school and he just loves it. As far as the city goes, it has a large South Vietnamese population and the normal crime problems. It isn't the nicest city in OC but it isn't the worst by any means. I hope your comming with a big bank roll to buy a house though as they are high in all of SoCal.

Actually not to bad a place and yes it's in OC. They are well paid. Nearly every PD in LA and OC is taking laterals so apply everywhere.

thanks for the info. being from new york, i just wondering if one laterals, do i need to complete the cali post basic course waiver first before getting hired, or get hired and then pass the waiver course? anyone know the what that process is all about? anymore info. on garden grove as far as benefits, vacation time, etc. can one buy back time there tranfering over?
