You pass with a 70, but you won't get on the job with that score. If you're a white male you'd better score in the high 90's. That's just Civil Service and liberals mucking up the system. Veterans go to the top of the list. I'm a vet so I'm all for it.
I'm a Worcester PO, sorry don't know anyone in Quincy.

Passing score is a 70 for the Civil Service test, but if you're a non-veteran, you'll need at least a 99 to even be considered. Quincy isn't under any type of consent decree, so race isn't going to play a factor, at least for the foreseeable future.
If you really want to be a police officer, join a National Guard Military Police unit. You'll most likely spend a year in Iraq or some other hellhole, but you'll have veteran's preference and therefore almost be guaranteed a police job (provided you pass the background & academy).
I'm with the Quincy PD, I'll try to answer any questions you might have.
By the way....if you want to be a cop, you should lose the attitude about "dam black people". That kind of stuff has no place in law enforcement.

Your wrong about the b"dam black people attitude buddy. Ever hear about the Rodney King story? yea those cops hate colored people. I do too no offense. But I will never show it. So ur really a quincy cop? How do i know? U might be lying. By the way SCREW THE NATIONAL GUARD I AM JOINING THE NAVY!!!!!!!!!1
1) With your attitude, you best look for another line of work. You're not even out of high school, and you're already copping an attitude to a veteran of almost 20 years experience. If I were your FTO, I'd dump you off at the station in about 3 minutes.
2) I couldn't care less if you believe me or not. If I were going to lie about my job, I'd pick something a hell of a lot more glamorous than being a cop.
3) If you join the Guard, you'll be eligible to take the civil service test with veteran's preference a hell of a lot quicker than if you join the Navy for 4 years.
But...do it your way, because you obviously have all the answers already.

dennis my man you'll be weeded out in the BI so don't waste your money on the CS test. Forget the Navy go join David Duke...

Ok this is not my attitude anywhere. I was just having a bad day. I have a question for you in the qpd. Do you know a officer whos last name is Woody? Was the academy hard in qpd?
We don't have anyone who goes by the name of Woody, that I'm aware of. As for the academy, it all depends where you go; some have a reputation of being harder than others. If you're prior military, it won't be all that bad.

how old are you? are you one of the young ones or the older ones?
I've been a cop nearly 20 years, so do the math. And one of the new guys is named Wood.

I hear sirens everyday here in Quincy. So how much action does quincy have?
If you're hearing sirens all the time, might that be a clue that we have some "action"?
