Jailer certification question

A local PD has openings for a "jailer" and it says it would be helpful to have a State of Ca. Custodial Officer certificate. Anyone have any idea how to obtain one of these? Or, where to go to rec. the proper training? I'm wondering if it would be the same type of certificate that a prison guard needs. Anyway, any insight would be great and very much appreciated.

Check out the admin. of justice class at your local community college. I know ours in Santa Ana offers a certificate for a corrections officer. Wouldnt hurt to look into it.

CA. has specific training for Correctional Officers, several academies offer basic training.
