LA COUNTY DA Investigator

Does anyone have any information on the los angeles county DA investigator position. Work detail, type of schedule they have, etc.

They work generally Mon-Fri with holidays off. They make LASD wages until they pass a test for supervisor. Supervisor pay I believe is equal to LASD Sgt pay. Alot of my friends that have lateraled like the pay (not o/t though) but miss the action. They're also part of ALADS.

I recently got hired as a zoning enforcement inspector for LA county. The DAIs accompant us on inspections for the county's Nuisance Abatement Teams. They are mostly former deputy sheriffs, although I have met one or two ex-LAPDs. Their action might be less but they still get some. They get into it with gangbangers, meth heads, cholas, etc., who don't like "the man" knocking at their door. What I particularly like is that they always come heavy - 3 or 4 of them, with large guns. Glad they (and LASD teams) are with us. Imagine an unarmed wanker with an urban planning degree (i.e., me) trying to get that gangbanger to move out of his illegal garage conversion?
