I was testing for a medium sized PD and I failed the polygraph claiming I tried meth
I spoke with the BI on many occassions and he said that there really wasn't anything I could do except apply next year. Now that I think about it I really was a idiot about the whole situation, and the more I read on this board the more I think that I should have requested a re-test. The other part that confuses me is that they would ask me to reapply after being deceptive???
At this point in the game should I just drive on with other PD's or rehash the situation? Any sense in fighting it this late

I'd say there is nothing you can do about it now. It does sound strange that they would find you an unsat candidate but invite you back next year. I would get clarification from the person in charge of recruiting as to what exactly dept. policy is for your situation. I, too, had a bad experience with a polygraph examiner in whcih she stated I was being deceptive about almost everything on the test. It has left a bad taste in my mouth about the machines and examiners ever since, and that has been the better part of 20 years ago. I wrote that agency off and moved on. Unless it is your heart's desire to work for the agency you are talking about, find out what their policy is and keep looking for work. How do you know your not going to get the same operator next time around?

thanks for the help, I really do not want to work for the department plus I am planning to move to CA, so I will probably just move on.

Just move on to the next opportunity and forget this ever happened. Good luck.
