hey everyone
Hey talking to our intel officer about how crooks get the stuff in and he was disappointed that he had to find out a method off the news rather than get it from his contacts.
So , given that it no secret , what ways have you come across that crooks have tried to smuggle the stuff in , for you it might be old hat for us it could be good info.

Inside a body cavity.
Dirty Staff. (Jock Strap).
Putting it in a tennis ball or some other contraption and throwing it over the fence.
Dirty Staff (False bottoms in shoes).
Mail.
Dirty Staff (lunch coolers).
Special Orders.
Dirty Staff. (Some big insulated drinking cups have secret compartments).
I will add more later. ;)

I don't know if this is a rumor at my facility, but...
An officer told me that someone on the outside trained a cat to somehow get through/under the fence, and would strap contraband to it and use it as a "mule."
Our facility has a significant cleared zone around the fenceline. It would be difficult to throw something over the fence where I/Ms could access it. It IS possible, but someone on the outside would have to wait undetected until a Perimeter Patrol Vehicle went past, and then hope the driver doesn't look in the rear-view mirror.

We have on visits inside the buildings that the inmates are kept. We found out that visitors bring contraband in the secure side of the building and stuff it under the sink or toilet. Later, trustee inmates clean that area and pick-up any deliveries that have been left. Deliveries are all pre-scheduled so the trustees know who to deliver it to. The contraband gets into lockdown areas inside box lunches. We have special diets, like low salt, low fat etc. that are labeled that are easy to distinguish. Found all of that info in a letter that one *****bag wrote to another.

Comes in through visitors, dirty staff, and the trucks coming into the facility. We found like 18 cell phones in a bundle in one of the delivery trucks.

Other that the ubiquitous dirty staff here are a few that have happed in my neck of the woods.
1) Packets of drugs thrown over the fences into the yard.
2) Arrow with packet of drugs taped to shaft fired into the yard.
3) Donation of library books from a cultural group which had packs of heroin hidden inside the spines of the books.
4) Length of hacksaw blade concealed rectally aka "suitcased".

I've seen contraband come come in
a contact case, the spine of a book, the cardboard envelope from the post office (had a razor blade taped inside), matches and/or cigs in the waistband of pants, underwear. and of course where the sun don't shine :(

1.) Dirty Staff (There should be much harsher punisment then there is)
2.) "Tucked" Anus and Vagina (Nastiest thing Ive found is an entire porn mag made into 3 "sluggs" which by their smell and covering could be easily determined that they were held anally. They were about 3/4 to 1 inch around and 1 to 1 1/2 inch long)<- this was a fed pre-trial detainee who was planning to sell them when he got to prison according to him he could have gotten $500 + for the porn. Sucks to be him
3.) Through the Mail (Marijuna in between a photo and the paper it was glued to) (Tobacco in cards and Magizenes)
4.) Passed by Attorneys
5.) Insoles of shoes with recesses cut into them
6.) Tapped inside the visitors bathrooms (inmates clean that area)
7.) Saved medication inside a coca butter container

Visitation and crooked officers are the two most common ways that contraband gets in.
