Why would you want to work for DPD? There are suburbs that pay much better, much better working conditions, and better morale.

If I had to guess, Dayton will test soon, the last few they could not get applicants. They don't really take laterals, you have to go back through their academy the same as all the others that tested.

They had quite a few applicants the last test. Unless a ton got dq'd they have enough for a few classes. Not sure about lateral testing though.

Aross326,
Dayton is a GREAT Place to work. The grass is not always greener elsewhere
To correct some mis information: If you are an OPTOA certified police officer Dayton created a special classification for that test. It was seperate from the open class. If you were accepted as a pre certified officer you wuld attend basically an orientation academy about 4-6 weeks. You would not take the whole academy over.
If you took the open test and already certified you would have to do the whole academy again.
Dayton won't test till at the earliest sometime late next year it depends on the applicant pool from the current list of Open.
