not tryin to sound like a dick or anything, but isnt that something youd want to know prior to sending in your app and starting the process???
anyways, all I know is that have a very long para-military live in academy as due most state police agencys, and its a very strict hiring process... Im sure they're plenty of colorado boys on here that can help...
Good luck

I'm now through to testing. Has anyone been through the process for the CSP? If they have please could they offer any tips or advice?
Thanks

How did you get accepted since you are from the UK? Do you have US citizenship or a green card? How did get the green card? Sorry about all those questions. I'm just curious because I once had also the idea of becoming a police officer in the USA. But I pretty much realised that it's impossible.
Good luck on your further testing!
Kind regards from Switzerland

Swiss,
Contact a recruiter through thier website. That's what i did and they were very happy to accept my application. They have just extended the deadline for accepting out of state applicant to Sept 2008. I do not have visa or green card and they are aware of that and have still accepted my applcation. There is a shortage of officer applicant throughout the USA. 16 states do not require (by law) citizenship. All i've done is find the depts that are hiring in those states and contact them.
There's a lot of great guys on here who are very informative and helpfull; every one of them will tell you what i'm about to: It's a tough process....be sure you're happy and prepared (and your family is too) to finish what you start. Honesty, dedication and an absolute desire to be an LEO is a minimum requirement to be successful.
Good luck.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I'm already a police officer in Switzerland with almost 4 years of experience (without academy). I know it's a tough process to become a police officer. And I guess it's even tougher to become a police officer in the USA as a foreigner.
I was just wondering if you already moved to the USA or if you on some kind of vacation while you are applying to all those different agencies.
If you don't mind, keep your steps posted and let me know about your process. Maybe I am going to try it your way some day.
Good luck
