With all the talk of wearing vests, I thought it would be a good time to open a new thread about saves.

Here's mine:

Late last summer, my partner and I head down onto a local beach to bust up a juvi drinking party. By the time we get there, most are gone and we round a few stragglers that are actually sober but on the beach after it closed. Just as we're finishing up, we notice that theres an unattended fire burning near the grass line. We go over to throw some sand on it (it's small). Just as we get there, *BOOM*. Something in the fire explodes. My partner took a chunk of shrapnel through her arm (all the way through). I felt something hit my chest but at first I thought it was just the shock wave. After getting my partner on the way to the hospital, I noticed a hole in my shirt. There was a chunk of shrapnel imbedded in my trauma plate. That was an eye opener.

Its not always the BG with a gun that you've got to watch out for. Stay safe and wear your vests.

Bet you don't leave the house without it.

I still think it is interesting that vests lessen the trauma incurred in a traffic accident.
