Some of you will hate me for asking, but where can I get one?

I'm looking for a small blue gun. I've seen these talked about here, but I couldn't find the threads with the forum search.

Some people thought they would lead to too much confusion, some admired them, and some felt both ways. I'm hoping that someone from the latter two groups can help me find one. If I can, I'll be glad to buy a used one, and that way I won't be encouraging anyone to manufacture any more of them.

Nearly all guns that are designed to look like something else, a phone, a pen, a wallet, etc...are built like crap. You'll probably end up blowing your hand apart. Stay away from "novelty" guns and go with a reputable manufacture.

I'm not looking for a gun that's shaped like a cell phone, but one that's this (http://products.search.aol.com/aolc/ppeproduct? cid=1&lcid=11580100&_pn=Motorola+KRAZR+Cell+Phone&pid=496911971&o=s&ref=ags123&k=++++++++%22blue+cell+phone%22&off=1&pgsz=9&p_s=no_sortby#) sort of blue, or maybe a little bit closer to this (http://www.phonedog.com/cell-phone-research/sanyo-katana-blue_image-gallery.aspx). Because of the bright colors, these guns look at first glance like they're just cell phones. The only times I've seen them were on this forum.

But thank you for the warning about the "novelty" guns:eek:!

Kel-tec has them, but I wouldn't trust those guns with my life. Shot a few of them before and they hurt the hands, made out of plastic, and not smooth at all.

Oops, my bad. I misread your question.

I agree that Kel-tecs are not as "polished" as a SIG or H&K, or even a Glock but, IMO, they excel at their intended purpose - an OH ***** gun at a decent price. I carry a P3at as a BUG and have every confidence that it will work and put bullets where I point if I need it to. No, the action is not LDA smooth. Yes, it bites, especially with the +P ammo I carry. True, it's made out of plastic, just like my H&K, so what? Who doesn't make a "plastic" gun these days?

Thanks for the replies and the info. I haven't been able to find a picture of any blue Kel-Tecs, but I would be willing to try one if I liked the way it looked.

How many rounds does it take before it starts to hurt? What sort of plastic?

Depends on which end of the gun you're on.

The plastic is a polymer just like Glocks, SIGs, H&Ks, Springfields, etc, etc, etc.

Ok. Now that i've seen the color you saw I can tell you that Glock has 2 color guns. RED for (I think) Non-Firing Trainer and BLUE (your blue) for Simmunitions Training which is basically a paintball blended with a cartridge designed to fire from a REAL gun using a modified barrel. Cycles Autos real well for realistic force on force training. These are only available for LE with Dept letterhead orders. Hope this is what you wanted to know. Glock makes other colors for purchase like Olive, and Sand.

Plastic and Polymer are different.

Kel-tec = Plastic
Glock, Heckler & Koch, ect = Polymer.

Oh, and my Para Ord doesn't make plastic guns :p

To quote the Kel-tec web site: "The grip is made of the ultra high impact POLYMER Dupont ST-8018" (bold caps added for effect :D ).

Kimber never made "plastic" guns before either but now they've jumped on the polymer band wagon so I'd imagine it's just a matter of time before Para-Ordnance does too, which probably won't be a bad thing. I switched from a LDA14-45 to a H&K USP Compact because of size and weight issues.

Witness polymere comes in a WIDE variety of colors, including pink and blue, so go nuts. Good pistols, but I always reccomend staying away from odd colors. Not only do they encourage little hands to think they are toy guns, but BGs may ALSO think you are pointing a toy gun at him.
