Carroll County Sheriff's Office is full service, and they have a take home car (15 miles from the county line I believe and allowed in PA). However, their retirement plan is less than desireable from what I understand. I'm sure Irishlad will chime in.

Harford County has a take home car and has a great retirement plan (LEOPS). It's full service and has lots of opportunities for specialized units. Send me a PM if you have any specific questions.

Ding ding...I hear ya..lol...CCSO...well let's see, the take home policy use to be 50 AIR Miles, now that might have changed due to the turn-over there.
Retirement sucks! I would look into Howard, Frederick, Mont. Hardford, etc. At lease at those agencies you would have more room to get into special units, etc. Good luck.

Havre de Grace has a take home car program (25 miles from HdG). They also are full service in the town and cities of Havre de Grace, MD.

Um..Havre de Grace is one town, one city last time I was there! You sure you didn't mean Hardford Co. Sheriff?

What I meant was HdG PD is the main police agency in the TOWN and CITY of HdG.

And that would only make sense that Havre de Grace PD be the police in their own town...don't ya think?

A lot of county PD's are the primary agency throughout the county, even though there are municipal departments. Montgomery county is, and same with PG, except maybe in a few municipalities?

...no Mont Co police nor Howard Co Police are not the primary agency when it comes to the towns that have their own Police! Which is why those towns, such as Rockville, Greenbelt, etc...way too many to name, but they are the Primary Agency in their own jurisdiction, the County Agencies outside of the town limits are the Primary.

ok maybe i need to be more specific. most of you guys should atleast have an idea of where i work now, and i have enough issues with that place. i really dont want to go to a small town...well ive got a buddy in Aberdeen (city not proving ground) and it seems cool up there, but its a hike from my house. ive been talking about Harford Co for a while now but i gotta wait till after the election. id love to go to Wicomico but its too far for personal reasons.

I would stay away from Wicomico!! Pay sucks for one, two the Sheriff fired his own son who now works in the next county over, etc...but anyway go for Hartford!

If Mike Lewis wins the Sheriff election in Wicomico, it will probably turn things around.

I think it would be awesome to have him as a Sheriff
