Hope he comes out fine. Wonder what the trucker will get. Vehicles are deadly weapons, exspecially semis. There has to be accountabillity, or it will continue. There has to be major leagal deterant. Thank goodness for the brave men and women of the ISP.

The fact he survived that is nothing short of a miracle. Hopefully he will be able to have a full recovery.

There are laws in place to address this issue. The problem is enforcement. It is almost impossible for a lone officer in enforce the statute.
Officers face this scenerio everyday. I have had more than a few close calls. In one, a car was going about 70 and missed me by less than a foot. Rest assured, the truck will be handled.

That God guy is a powerful dude, nothing to mess with, wow.
A friend of mine was in an accidently like that, husband tried to kill her and himself, thank God she made it after months of hospitalization. The car looked like a ball of metal.

The evening news said he is in serious but stable condition with cracked vertebrae and other similar injuries. It is a miracle he was able to get out of his commission by himself. News also said there will proably be no charges filed against anyone... load a crap on that. I have been working I-65 just south of there and it is a danger for everyone. Indiana has a move-over law but it is rarley enforced, unfortunately.

Be safe out there.

Take with the news said with a grain of salt, regarding charges. The media often confuses statments issued by the police.

An article that I read stated that the semi did leave skid marks, but even with that, they initially could not determine which lane he was travelling in.

If the media accurately quoted the police, just remember all statements issued yesterday were preliminary findings conveyed by the PIO. The crash investigators and reconstructionists will determine what and how the crash happened.
Also remember the police will not disclose essential information as that could jeopardize the investigation.

You too? I was on a vehicle stop at the 149 the other day, nasty traffic. My arrowstik made absolutely no difference...

It was great to see Sgt. Kelly on the news this evening. It looks like he will make a full recovery and wants to "get back out there". What an amazing story, and I'm glad it wasn't worse for him. My prayers are with him for a speedy recovery.

I wanted to share the above picture with you; It's the aftermath of my wife's great aunt and uncle's buick being crushed by a semi driver who ran a red light on a city street in lawrence last saturday afternoon...
These accidents we've all seen and heard about lately serve as constant reminders of the danger we all face when we leave the house in our vehicles. Obviously our LEO's out there face even more danger on our roadways, and it always bothers me when I see people zipping right by an officer conducting a traffic stop, or doing an accident investigation.
I'll never forget my first ride along; their were 5 different cars lined up along I-74, LED's GALORE, behind a semi and an idiot in an escort came zooming by within a few feet of taking out a deputy who was stepping out of the rig. One of the 5 cars, an ISP trooper, left to chase him down, I hope the ticket was big!
