I'm curious what the requirements to be a valid candidate for officer in TN?
I'm a 4 year grad with BA in CJ and certficate in Forensic science...
I'm also POST certified in MN as well as EMSRB First Responder...
Any help would be appreciated... I was raised in the Asheville/Hendersonville area of NC and would like to get back there to settle down.

I'm not sure how up-to-date their website is, but it says they're hiring...

You need to contact the TN Law Enforcement Academy and check with the POST commission to see if you can challenge the POST testing since you're already certified in MN. The link is listed below. If you call them and they refer you to someone else, let me know....

Bedford County is accepting applications and would love to have good certified officers working for them! If you need or want any info send me a PM.
Also, the way I understood with Vandy is that they are always hiring, but they may stick you in the hospital doing security 1st and then when a patrol spot opens then you might be moved. Too much BS for me. I worked at a college too many years! lol

I know this thread is a little old, but I can give some info on Vandy as a former officer.
Vandy is always taking apps, because it is a revolving door. It is a good palce for a start of a career, but to stay there you have to find it is your niche. You will probably work in the hospital, but you are still a police officer. They have a few non-commissioned security officers, but that is a separate job you would apply for. If you do get the med center, you will probably get out of it later. They used to do bid, but now they put you where they want. You would have time to learn about it anyway b/c you would have around 14 weeks on FTO program.
Feel free to email me with questions. I am not on this board very often, but I will help with any info.
