CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Police have arrested a man who led police on a high-speed chase that led to the death of a Colonial Heights police officer. Chesterfield County Police say 36-year-old Douglas Michael Brown Junior was arrested without incident this afternoon outside an Albemarle County town house where he was staying with a female friend. A tip led local, state and federal authorities to the home. The woman also may face charges. A Chesterfield police officer began chasing Brown early Saturday morning when he allegedly sped through an accident investigation scene and refused to stop when being pulled over. Police said Brown was driving a stolen van. The chase crossed into Colonial Heights, where the Chesterfield officer collided head-on with a car driven by off-duty Colonial Heights police Lieutenant James Sears. The 17-year police veteran and married father of three died about 40 minutes later at the hospital.

I saw that. It sucks. Was there a question?

Like I said before, bad things might happen when people run from the police.

That always sucks.

Don't get in over your head. If you are driving on the edge it's better to terminate and catch them another day.

The officer who hit the off duty Lt. crossed the center line when he avoided a collision with a vehicle that pulled out in front of him as he approached the intersection. Bad deal all the way around unfortunately.
