How many guys are here from St. Louis County PD (Still sounds weird to me, County PD, not SD :p )? How does everyone like it? Are the politics bearable...etc?

It is 4 AM and my eyes are blurry so I am probably overlooking it on their site, but does the County require experienced Officers with Class A licenses to attend their complete academy? I can't find where it is directly addressed, but it seems to me that all people hired are to complete the Academy.

The front page of the County's website says that they are looking for experienced Officers, why would they want experienced Officers if they were just going to sit them in the Academy for another 28 weeks? It just doesn't make sense to me.

as always talk to a recruiter for sure but if you read the portion under probation, it makes it sound like you go straight to FTO

I've got the application to go through the testing (POST) to get my class A license. But I'm a LEO in IL, with 6 years expierience. Are a lot of hoops to jump through. Might be easier to just apply and if I get hired to go through their academy. That would be pretty cool though to get hired and just get in a car with an FTO and get to work. But like I said the POST process is very tedious....
