With Memorial Day coming up, I thought this post would be very appropriate, and especially appropriate in this forum because without those who serve int he armed services we wouldn't have the civil rights that we all love to discuss.
So, thank you for protecting the freedoms that my family, friends and I share because of your sacrefice.
You may not always hear it, but most of us citizens ARE greatful for everything you do for us!
God bless,

I read a letter to the editor in the school's newspaper. The student described her Memorial Day ritual, and I thought it was very touching. She goes to a memorial where the school's war dead are listed and she picks out a name at random and thinks about that name as a person. Simple stuff like "What did he do for fun?", "How big was his family?" etc.
I was moved by the idea. When I start trying to put faces on the sacrifices made,I find the treasures I enjoy are just a little more golden.
Catch 22
Catch, ever seen "The Wall?" Most of us from my generation have friends listed there. :( Just seeing it was a very moving experience for me.

Don,
Never had the chance to see The Wall. As soon as my daughter is old enough to understand what it means, it will be on our vacation agenda.
