When I took my entry exam, they showed us a video of "the police academy", which was taking place in the building I was in, located on Val Vista and McDowell.

I asked one of the officers, for clarification, "where exactly IS the academy?" and he responded "you're in it"

I've also spoken to, and read many posts from, Mesa PD officers, who talk about the south mountain runs... and the ALEA website says they are located in south phoenix.

Does the Mesa PD use a different academy, or was that one cop just messing with my head? I'm looking to buy a house/rent an apartment, and would like to minimize the drive (assuming I get in)

Mesa has its own academy facility

Phoenix has ALEA at south mountain

Sheriffs Office has a Academy aswell at 35th Ave and Lower Buckeye

all departments in the valley send to one of those 3 academy with exception to Phoenix = ALEA
Mesa = Mesa academy
Sheriffs= Deputy academy

When I was going thru Scottsdale process i was told i could go to any of the three had i been selected.

Actually there are several other academy's in the Phoenix area. There are also academy's in Prescott, Taylor, and Tucson. Mesa, ALEA, and MCSO are the three biggest, but there is also GCC, and other smaller academys. Arizona, POST is POST, doesn't matter what academy you go to. Once your certified, thats it. Mesa, PHX, or MCSO, its still hot so yes, drink lots of water and make sure you start getting into shape.

Good luck to all of you. We need some good cops out here.

I used to have INSANE allergies, to the point that simply going outside would make me clog up unable to breathe, eyes watering, cough/sneezing uncontrollably...

I found an allergist that does something called "Immunotherapy" for allergies. I am literally 100% allergy free now. I don't want to play advertising here, so if you want details, reply, or PM me.
