a good workout to build up your neck. I have a slight problem with my C4 and C5. Nothing out of line or out of place, but something it feels like I get a stinger in my shoulder. I hope this will not stop me from getting into Law Enforcement.

That depends on what you want to do. Do you want to bulk up or strenghten the area..or are you just looking for movements to get movement into the area?

try doing dumbell shrugs. it builds up the trap muscles and strengthens the lower part of the neck and upper back. Look at the former wrestler Goldberg.... that's how he got his neck to look like a huge tree stump. Other than that, I haven't seen a machine isolating the neck in about 8 years now. Good luck... neck and lower back problems are the worst.

I tried both, and what I discovered that the best way (and the safest) is to use the Smith machine for your behind back shrugs. That's how I strengthened my neck and traps. Started small. Now I can shrug about 450 on a Smith. That's 5x45 plates on each side. Trust me it works.

Never liked them anyway :D.

My genetics went all into my traps, shoulders and biceps. Everything else I have to work really hard on developing. You would not believe how many times during my BI and Poly I was asked about steroid usage :D. I guess hard work and sacrifice doesn't come to mind for most people.

Started lifting seriously about 3 years ago. 5 times a week, at least two hours a day. Arnold's three days split, giving at least 24 hours of rest for each muscle group. I modified the routines a little to fit my body type and lifestyle.

That's dedication right there. I wish I had more time to train, but shift work is a killer. Currently doing 2 days weights, 1 day cardio, rest, then do it all again. Session goes about 1 hour each day but high intensity (most days.. :) ) Ties are over rated anyway!

A guy from my old station was named 'the big dog', tips in at around 130kg. He also was questioned re steriod usage.. but he's just a big guy. All the best with the training.

rr600 what do you do then that you have clients?

In my old gym we used to have a machine that you could shrug with. That was great. Now i just shrug with dumbells also.
I have a tough shoulder/trap/neck outine cuz of a dislocated shoulde. It works great and trains all three shoulder muscles and my traps and delts.
