We normally wear a tan short sleeve, brown slack, black duty belt. Badge, name tag, and citations.

The uniform we're about to go looks like we mugged a boy scout troop.
Tan polo (all embroidered stuff) and brown cargo pants. The pants are nice, but the polo looks like a rejected wackenhut shirt and they fall a part after one or two washes. :(

Ugh why does every department I go to have to switch uniforms.

NYS DOCS - inmate manufactured pieces of crap! Completely inferior cloth, made by uncaring convicts, to save the department money  We look like the jiffy lube oil change guy, no disrespect to him, of course!

Option#1 Dark navy blue BDUs and all the normal gear. All badges, pins and name tags sewn on

Option#2 (class A) Dark navy blue uniform top and pants with royal blue stripe down legs. Metal nametags, badge, pins.

I prefer the new 511 BDUs. They are %$&#in GREAT!! Pads in knees and elbows, extra velcro pocket at both front breast. Try them out, they are sharp! If you wear BDUs, you HAVE to check these out!!!!mm

Class A - Silver-tan long sleeve shirt, with all accessories, chocolate brown cotton/poly slacks.. This is optionally worn with black plain tie, and is the Dept dress uniform. Hat can be ball cap or Smokie, if you have the $ to buy one.
Class B - Short sleeve version of above, never worn with tie. This is my uniform of choice.
Class C - Tan polo shirt, embroidered badge and name, chocolate brown BDU pants, bloused in military style boots, list of authorized makers is in policy. Comfortable, but sloppy looking. Great lockdown uniform, works well with stab vests. No low quarter shoes allowed in this uniform. Hat can be ballcap, Smokie, or tan boonie style, which is good for the open yards. Optional accessory, authorized for open yards, Camelbak water holder.
Uniform policy does allow the polo to be worn with Class A pants, and Class B shirt worn with BDUs, but not Class A shirt with BDUs.

We just went to new ones last year they are great. Cordura duty belt, dark blue BDU shirt and pants. 100.00 Boot allowance so you can buy what you want. Ball cap instead of forage cap, also we have our badges in our wallets not on our uniform. We are in the process of getting the ceremonial uni taken care of.

Baby blue polyester top, short sleeve. Looks like a real button-down shirt, but is actually a zip-up shirt. Polyester pants are denim-colored with black stripe down the legs. Black boots. If officers are allergic to polyester, or simply prefer not to wear it, they may get a profile allowing them to wear the cotton version. Dress uniform is simply a long-sleeve version of the shirt with tie. Looks sharp when worn correctly, but polyester should be on the list of "deadly sins."

I love our uniforms,...black 5.11 Tactical shirts, rolled in the summer, no short sleeves. Tan 5.11 Tactical pants. name plate. They're manuverable, comfortable, knee pads are great just slide them in when you need them. They starch and iron well.

We have two uniform styles, in transition from the first to the second.

1: Carolina blue shirt button up, polyester, pin on badge and name plates. Pants are gray with black stripe down the leg, also polyester. Black boots. Basically, except for the badge, we look just like postal workers.... did I mention that they are convict made? I have one long sleeve shirt with one shoulder patch on the elbow...

2: Navy blue button shirt, with sewn on badge and name tape, navy blue pants. Black boots. I am in the process of getting BDU pants approved for our new uniforms.
On a personal note, I honestly believe we would be much better off in an ashe grey polo shirt with embroidered name and sewn on badge with navy blue BDU pants.

We have Black pants/Grey shirt similar in color to the PSP. Commonwealth patch on left shoulder, American Flag on right. Plastic name tag. Sergeants have stripes of course. Lt., Cpt and Major were White shirts.

We tried to convince the arbitrator in our last contract to change us to BDU's, but the Commonwealth was successful in arguing it would 'intimidate' the convicts because we would look like we were military. Funny thing is, everytime there is an issue with anything they shout from the roof top that we are a 'para-military' organization.

Go figure.
