Can someone please tell me what are the shifts or the work hours for the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Miami Dade Police Department, and Fort Lauderdale? And any related information that might be helpful regarding the hours of work. I am applying for these three departments and any information will be very helpful.
Thank you for your time

Not sure about Miami Dade, Goozling can give you some more info. BSO works eight hour shifts. If I recall correctly they are 6a-2p, 2p-10p, and 10p-6a - might be :30 instead of :00. I am pretty sure FLPD is on 10's or 12's. Why only these agencies?

I am looking into Miami Dade because I live in the county, know the area, and they are a large department although they pay the least.
I am looking into BSO and Fort Lauderdale because they have several departments to which I could apply and they have higher salaries.
Do you suggest any other departments?
Thanks

some of the districts in MD are 4-10's... Intracoastal station is still regular 8's with 2 days off.
the base start of MDPD may be smaller but after you make it through and are done with your probation year....it gets better...
also.. if your on mids or afternoons you have an increase and if you are there then your court time is usually the 4 hours of overtime and the off duties or details you have available to you are added easy money...
I make quite a bit of money now.

hope that helps.
