 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will try to make this quick as I am quite p*ssed off right now!!!!

About 2 weeks ago I received a DQ letter from a LE agency.
It stated that there were others more more qualified and with more education and a better background investigation.

I wrote them back asking why I was being DQ'd as I meet and exceed the required education and experience and that my BI told me everything was good.

Well, just today I got a reposed back and I am FUMING!!!!
It says I was DQ'd for failing to notify them of a previous DQ and also failing to tell my BI about the DQ at my interview and that they didn't learn about it until they contact the other LE agency...
That is total BS!

First off I was DQ'd from this 1st agency around Mid-March. I had my BI interview beginning of April and I DID tell him about my DQ and why, I even watched him write it down...

I also FAXED him a copy of the DQ letter!!
I want to call him up right now and say "what the *#&@!!!!!

As far as notifying them of the DQ, well no I didn't, but I didn't know I had to, becasue at the time I hadn't had my BI yet and I knew I was going to tell them...

I am not hiding anything and what really upset me is not that I didn't get this job but that other agency that I am applying with with think I held something back from this place!!

What do I do???
Call an attorney?
Call my BI???

You need to relax. Call whoever and explain the situation to them. There is no need to act crazy, because if you do that only gets you one more department to add to the DQ list. Add that will hurt you if you keep applying to other departments. Just call. But relax for a few days first. Maybe call tomorrow.

Look at it this way. Do you REALLY want to work for an agency that operates in this manner?

Exactly.

It's obvious they don't want you, for whatever reasons, so just move on.

Most government agencies have a statutory time limit within which appeals on civil service DQs can be filed. An appeal is more than a phone call or a letter to the PD. It usually involves making a formal written request to the civil service commission or city's personnel department. If you decide to pursue the issue, you may want to find out what that time limit is and make sure your formal appeal is filed in a timely manner.

Thanks,
No, I don't want to work for this agency any longer, But I do to rectify this issue, as it will hinder any future applications.

Obviously the BI didn't put in his report that I disclose my previous DQ to him. Nor did he submit to the PD, the fax that I sent him of my prevous DQ letter.
Did he not include this on purpose? I hope not.
Hopefully this is all a honest mistake and he will fix it tomorrow when I call him.
I just hope he doesn't deny making a mistake to save his own *****.

Well just an update, I called my BI and he remembers everything...
I contacted the PD and they said to put it in writing so I did...
Lets see if my BI tells them the same thing he told me!
