O.K. I work for Dauphin County Prison in Harrisburg, PA as a C.O. Every time the prison hires they only do local advertising and the past 3 or 4 classes have been bums. The pay is good for corrections and the benefits are great. You start at 16.30hr but go up to like 18 or 19 an hour after a 6 month probation. We need some good serious officers. It is worth looking into. This thread was from me not the county.

NO. It is weird in PA. The state of Pennsylvania does not recognize corrections as Law Enforcement. We have absolutely no power outside of our facility. I can say that most LE agencies in the state that I have had dealings with give us respect and professional courtesy.
