I was watching a show I think on The history Channel the other day on law enforcement snipers, and they came to part in the program where they were talking about why you never shoot to just wound.

They talked about this couple who were disillusioned into thinking that they were the second coming of Christ (or something like that) and they planned on confronting the police in such a manner that they were going to be committing suicide by cop....they were then supposed to rise from the dead in three days....uhh...No word on if it worked...

Anyway, the couple goes down on their knees with guns in hand, and start advancing toward the police across a bridge or overpass and the police have made a decision to shoot and wound the couple if they continue advancing. The couple kiss one another one last time, and keep advancing, so the police take aim and shoot them several times, the couple both fall...looks like the police did the right thing. They are both laying there, and the lady grabs her gun, shoots and kills the husband, then kills herself. To fulfill their...whatever it was...

Any idea on the video link?? I don't remember where it happened, that's why I gave all the details.

I've seen it, don't know where it happened either. But, if I remember correctly, the woman shot the husband (fulfilling her end of the bargain) and DIDN'T shoot herself, she was taken out by the cops though... guess you can't trust anyone with suicide pacts these days...

Calibre Press used that video many years ago in their Street Survival Seminar program. As told at the seminar, the police snipers were supposed to shoot each suspect in the right shoulder/arm which would prevent them from shooting their weapons(they were right handed). Problem was one of the snipers forgot that since he was facing the subjects, their right shoulder is ON THE SNIPER'S LEFT. He shot the female in the wrong shoulder so she was able to shoot and kill her husband and commit suicide.

I can't remember the specific city, but I believe it happened in north Idaho. I want to say Sandpoint or Rathdrum.
