Anyone here with links to the Arkansas State Police. I have been hired by them but I can't hit the streets alone until I complete the academy. I ASP was my first choice but everybody I talked to said that the ASP will screw you over, or you need someone on the inside to get hired. I know that the ASP only takes the BEST but I wanted to know if anyone could shed some light on thier ties with the ASP. Thanks!!

Do you know anyone on the "inside"? If not, do you really think that is a true statement. I know many who have been hired, and not known anyone working for ASP. What ties are you wanting to know about, trooper friends, co-workers? Did you ask any questions in your interview? If not you should probably start asking now, before you attend the academy.

So you are hired? What is your academy date? How was the interview? Please let me know because I'm in the current hiring process, and I'm pretty sure they have an academy on-going right now. I'm w/ you on this one NOLAPIG.

I'm not a trooper yet because I'm only 20, and still in college. I work for Mae Humphries in Grants. I have gone through a interview but it did not have anything to do with trooper stuff it was about my writing skills and being able to write grants. I was talking about trooper school not the office jobs when I said people told me they got screwed over. Thats why I'm asking the questions now before I attend the academy when they have the next one. There is a academy going now but they will not allowing people to enroll late because it normally last 22 weeks but they are going to cut this one off at 10 weeks like they did with the last one. Thats why I'm asking the questions now while I'm not commited to the ASP, and still have time to back out.
