Just thought I'd see how many others on here dive - I've been certified since 1998 - and learned to dive in my favourite spot - the Pacific Ocean, British Columbia.
Here's a link to something similar to what I experienced there: Race Rocks Ecological Reserve, British Columbia (http://www.racerocks.com/racerock/marmam/mammals.htm)
I had an encounter with a sea lion! It was interesting and curious. I also saw a few octopus' gardens, and played with spiny sea urchins.
The water was cold, though - 53deg. I had a full 7mm wetsuit. When we were doing the mask clearing drills, I got a huge brainfreeze!
I also very much enjoyed the Mayan Riviera - as there were a bunch of sea turtles and stingrays.
Post your favourite spots, and interesting stories here.

Good heavens no you didn't offend me.
Just wanted to spark a dialogue between divers - er, SCUBA divers I mean!
I'm not sure what other divers there might be actually

This might go bad. But there is that crazy sport of free diving. Where the person is taken down with some type of weight and hold their breaths forever.

I don't see how it can go bad, but ok.
Have fun! Go easy on the beers... eh?

I've been lucky with my diving career. I was certified with PADI when I was 16...I'm now 27 years old. I have my advanced certification. I have dived in the Cayman Islands (Grand & Little), Bonaire, Belize, Australia's Great Barrier Reef, and the lovely Coast of NJ. What was my favorite? It would have to be NJ wreck diving. Besides the water temperature of 55 degrees at it's warmest, there is nothing like diving a ship wreck hunting for some of the freshest lobster you could find. Although, Little Cayman and Australia are places I would love to dive again.
Got PADI certified in 1998 and love it. Went diving in Bonaire with a water temp in the 80's which was alot better than the 50's in Wisconsin. I would much rather wear a skin, than a 6-7 mil wetsuit to dive, combine that with the 100' visibility in the Carribbean as to the 3' visibility here.
