I'm a FL CPO and am using my supervisors vest when in the field. Mine is STILL on order. There was no measuring or training about how the vest should fit or how to use/wear it. The size is sm, med., etc. No one in my office can help and they don't wear their vests. Help... :o

If it's not fit right, it will be uncomfortable. If it's fit correctly, it will be uncomfortable. I've yet to wear a vest that felt correct.

They are changing for the better.

I'm no expert but it should rest against your body. No gaps. It should not be balled up against your duty belt when you sit down. There shouldn't be any gap on your sides (between the front panel and back panel) And lastly, you shouldn't look like you are wearing a turtle shell on your back.

No matter how good they fit, they are uncomfortable, but you get used to it. A good vest will stop about an inch above your beltline when you're standing. If you have side coverage, it should meet without overlapping. Unfortunately, most look like a turtle shell from behind. Get a vest that, at a minimum, will stop what you carry.

Okay, then you shouldn't look like quasimoto!

I don't have a turtle shell. :D :D

And if you have the option, get the shock plate.

Im female, 5'7, 150 and I wear a sz large vest. It feels as though it covers the major areas. Its uncomfortable at times expecially after long shifts, however I'd feel naked without it.
