Anybody else have bad luck with cell phones? Seems like between getting in and out of the squad car, wrestling around with subjects, running, and whatever, mine is always getting dropped, kicked, or taking a beating. Got dropped in a puddle yesterday and now it's on the fritz again

I agree with dog.
Mine stays in my over the seat pouch. You don't want it to ring if you are in the middle of searching a building.
Some officers keep it in a holder(basketweave made for the cell phone) on their duty belt...but again..turn off the ringer.

I agree.. I leave mine in the car. They are a pain to keep up with and deal with the ringer issue.
I have mine with me in case dispatch needs me and can't get me on the radio. That and the occasional family issue. It is the first thing on my duty belt on my right. I keep it totally incased in a nylon holder and on vibrate.
I have a department issued two way pager that I am required to keep with me at all times when on duty. That is also incased and on vibrate.
