As I pull in behind someone my seatbelt comes off. I'm ready to get out of the car quickly if need be.
I am not all that familiar with the lawsuits against ford for the car fires from rear-end crashes.
I'd like to know what you guys/gals do when you are on the side of the road for a bit. Seatbelt on or off. I am NOT talking about when writing a citation or other traffic enforcement type stuff.
Do you wear your seatbelt when you are behind someone waiting for a wrecker?
I wonder if you'd be better off with your seatbelt on while you are stopped behind a car on the interstate waiting for the wrecker, or would you be better off just keeping it unbuckled. I'm worried about the cars that come up and hit you in the rear.
Any comments or what you do/recommend would be appreciated.
When I'm on a traffic stop my seatbelt stays off.
When I'm behind a broke-down motorist on the interstate and I'm just waiting for a wrecker to get there, I make sure my wheels are canted in case a car hits me from the rear, but I normally don't put my seatbelt back on.
