It is now 1.30am on 1 May 2001. Later this morning, denomstrators around Australia are going to demonstrate against the status quo. They will focus their rage at the Stock Exchanges of each capital city. A group calling themselves "M1" will be at the centre of these anti-social ferals. I hope that the sky opens up and it pours rain. These people hate getting wet. I hope none of the Police are injured.

Once again it will be "out with the OC Spray". If that is not enough, then we can introduce them to Mr ASP.

A few hundred police officers faced several thousand demonstrators in Sydney today. The protest started calmly, but turned into a pitched battle when police decided to remove a vehicle that was illegally parked in the area. 34 people were arrested and 30 police were injured. One police officer sustained a number of broken ribs after being knocked to the ground and repeatedly kicked by demostrators. Demonstrators were extremely violent towards the police horses. In one incident, protestors tried to bring one of the police horses down.
In Brisbane, police faced in excess of 1500 protestors. 30 people were arrested.
In Melbourne, police faced thousands of protestors. No one was arrested. They vented their anger at a McDonalds store, defacing it with paint.
The next protest will be in Brisbane in October when the CHOGHEM meeting is on.

In Sydney, they used marbles to try to bring down police horses and also spread petrol onto the roadway with the intent to ignite it under the horses. Fortuantely, they were prevented from succeeding.

Isn't something pretty big supposed to be going on in London?

LONDON May 1st
Luckily the Metropolitan Police 'fielded' about 6,000 officers many in full riot gear. Rumour was that batton rounds had been authorised and if used it would have been the first time on mainland Britain. Many thousands of protesters turned out some from as far as the US. I think there were about 30 arrests and the Police quickly got it under control. Luckily it rained and people hate to get wet when going about their 'lawful demonstration'.
Well done all the Officers involved http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif
P.s. No reports of any Police injuries.
Stay Safe

In Western Australia, some protesters were able to pull one of the police horses to the ground where they began punching the horse in the nose. Pretty tough.

Less Lethal munitions....harumph!
The best riot round is FMJ...fired from rooftops.
Random sniper fire does wonders in crowd dispersement.
I have no sympathy for a mob.
NONE!

LONDON
Police made 92 arrests yesterday - including eight people from Denmark, Poland, Belgium and the United States - and among the weapons seized were a loaded airgun and a martial arts weapon.
Over 50 people were injured and 29 needed hospital treatment, the London ambulance service said. They included three police officers, one of whom was a female officer who lost consciousness in the crush but was later discharged from hospital.

In Sydney, these ferals took their children with them. Children as young as 18 months old. Many school children were represented. You can imagine the fear on their faces when the battles began.

G'day all
We in Brisbane are watching and testing. We had the most arrests on M1 and many of those indicated that CHOGM is next on the list. Going to be real interesting!

Welcome back Wonderwoman. I'm sure that the officer is recovering. It's a shame that these ferals don't get jobs and become active members of society. Opps, I used the "S" word and the "J" word. http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.officer.com/ubb/wink.gif

copitsweet, good luck in October when the CHOGM meeting is on. No doubt the usual rent-a-crowd will be there, stirring up the ferals. I am glad its in Brisbane and not in Sydney. I am surprised they didn't stir up the activists whilst the Olympics were on here.

I realise this is a fools rhetorical question, but explain to me how this in any way furthers their cause? Ferals indeed.

Hi Aerrin45ACP,
I have no idea how this furthers their cause with the mainstream members of society. I watched their preparations on TV just before their protest began and all I saw from the radicals was people walking around infront of the TV cameras holding one arm out similar to a Nazi salute. They are just looking for attention, I suppose.
