how often do assaults on officers occur at your facilities? we rarely have any at ours luckily. one inmate we have was convicted of killing an officer at another prison, and putting another in wheelchair. luckily he hasnt gotten to any of our staff yet.. tho im sure its going to happen.

The California Correctional Peace Officers Association says that we average 9 assaults state wide every day. CA CO's - Walking the toughest beat in the state!

We don't have many at my facility, maybe two or three per year.

Being a county facility we don't have to deal with this too much. Outright assaults are pretty rare, maybe 1 every year or so. Maybe. Most of our problems come from the bugs or drunks coming in.

Batteries fairly common in our seg units our gen pop units not so much. Out right assaults on staff, so too common we just had to BAD ones at the beginning of the year one I/M on I/M stabbing, and then a I/M on staff stabbing, but those are rare occurences.

Im county, we have them every now and then during intake, but not so many as far as our GP is concerned. We also have direct supervision units here though, so any time there is even a fight we call an Imediate officer assistance code. Its rare though that some one just attacks an officer here.

Our assults ussally happen during booking or holding (Detox) however, we have had a few in the pod areas. Espically if we are moving someone that does not want to be moved or transfering someone out.
