On the applications where it asks for reason for leaving, I'm torn on what to put here. A few years ago I was, although I would rather say "let go", I was fired from a job I had worked at for a year and a half. It was not on bad terms necessarily, it was something stupid and irrisponsible I did that made it appear that I was stealing. It's a long story, but that's the point...I'm not sure if I should put "See attached explaination" and attach my lengthy 1 page explaination. Or should I put something like explaining in person, or put Terminated and if it comes up explain...

I want a chance to man up and explain everything, because it's something stupid I did that got me fired which could have easily been avoided, but I don't want people to get the wrong impression of me, because it's far from it. The manager who had to let me go was given the order from above, and referred me to my current employer after the incident. Before it happened, and ever since my employment history has been perfect. How should I go about putting it down on my app and or letting my B.I. know...?

Sorry for the novel...I appreciate your opinions! :)

If you were fire, you put fired. If there is a spot for an explanation, you explain. Also if you will get to explain more in detail with your BI.

There is not a place for an explaination, there is a blank for reason for leaving.

My question is should I attach a supplemental sheet, or hope I get a chance to explain in person. I've heard some departments will just toss the app if there is no explaination with it.

You are looking way too much into this! If there is no place for an explanation, then don't put one. You put in the blank (fired, terminated) whatever term you are more comfortable with. Then when you go and meet your BI, trust me they will ask you in great detail why you were let go. Do not attach anything if they are not asking for it. And calm down, this is not that bad.

lmao...

I'll try and calm down. I know it isn't that big of a deal, it's the only bump in my background, but it's been haunting me lately.
