I'm no officer by any stretch of the word, but for college students trying to get ANY form of prior experience outside of internships... Honor Council.

You look up facts, investigate the claim, interview people and then issue a report.

Here is exactly what the USAjobs site classifies as prior work experience if you're looking for a federal investigation job.

"Specialized experience: Successful completion of at least one year of specialized experience performing duties such as planning and conducting investigations of individuals or organizations to collect facts regarding their character, suitability, qualifications, or to substantiate claims, or for legal cases, military intelligence, or law enforcement purposes; or newspaper reporting where the major duty was fact-finding and reporting on substantive issues; or legal work such as interviewing suspects and witnesses; or criminal law practice"

I'm sure being a sworn officer is far better, but for college kids like myself, this seems like one route to take while an undergrad

Good luck.

Was there a question in there? Or are you just letting us know?

I don't know if this is a silly question, but where are honor councils located? Are they in every state, or only in certain ones. I'm mainly looking for something in California. Thanks for the info!
