Once someone gets into the academy what needs to be passed physically, what I am looking for is if you pass the 1.5 mile run and the pushup and situps and perform at Cooper's standards, can you still be dropped if you don't pass the 3-6 mile run, what I mean is if you fail every 3-6 mile run will they kick you out? Or do they give you only a certain amount of times that you can fail before they would drop you? Thanks for the input.

The only thing you "have" to pass is the POPAT test which is pretty easy, however, if you are really out of shape and cannot keep up with your class in PC you can be dropped. If you don't feel confident about your physical rediness, I would reccomend waiting until you are.

Blustar, do you know what the POPAT consists of? and is it tailored to your age?

500 meter run, dummy drag, wall and fence jump and foot pursuit obstacle course. I don't know if there are different age requirements, but time is really not an issue. This test should not be a concern to anyone, however, females sometimes have difficulty getting over the wall. Recruits also take the Cooper/ fitforce test 2 or 3 times, this is more about determining your PC grade than a graduation requirement.

There is no pass or fail on the long runs. They are for conditioning. They will help you get better. POPAT is easy and the fit force is for grades.

Thanks for the replies, I have some work to do, but it puts things into perspective for me, anybody else I would ask either did not know or they would avoid the question by not giving me a straight answer. So thank you for the replies.

How do the fit force and POPAT differ? Is the fit force the test used to qualify in the hiring process? Thanks!
Sorry for jumping in on your thread winn1, but I figured my questions were relevent to what you were asking also.
