License Plate Info

Hello, I work for a college public safety department and have come upon a ton of special maine plates and wanted to know how to issue them citations properly. One would be one that is like UMS1234 (the ums are on top of each other). I do not know if that should be written the way I typed it there, or what. I am new to the whole "special maine plate" lol, so how would I enter them...also have some that are like conservation plates.

That plate sounds like a University of Maine System plate (one of several different plates availible in Maine). In your example the tag number would be 1234 and the type code would be UM (much like the type code for a regular plate would be PC or a conservation plate would be either CR or CN)
