I am applying to Merrillville, IN PD. I am not from the area and am just curious if anyone has any insight to the dept. Good? Bad? or otherwise. Thank you

I live there and I'm not an officer but when I listen to the scanner they are busy but it don't sound like anything serious, and if you live in the town you get to keep you squad car, not a bad deal in my eyes, stay safe and watch the north side if you do come and good luck!!
