It seems from reading other posts, people are stating the academy will teach you what you need to know to pass the MCOLES exam. I have checked into the Oakland and Delta Academy's and you have to pass the MCOLES BEFORE you can be accepted into the academy. So based on that does anyone have any training info or suggestions?
Thanks

There are two different tests being referred to here. One is a reading/writing test that must be passed prior to entering an academy. This has nothing to do with knowledge of law enforcement. The second test, the licensing exam, comes at the end of the academy. This is the one the academy training should prepare you for.

4 Turns is right, there are two totally different tests. The MCOLES Reading/Writing test that you must take to get accepted into the academy is just a fundraiser for the state and the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards as far as I'm concerned. As 4 Turns stated previously, the MCOLES Licensing Exam is the test that you must take and pass and at the end of an academy to become certifiable / certified in the State of Michigan.
