Can anyone tell me what the Rochester Housing Authority does? I know I've seen several marked law enforcement housing authority vehicles in other cities, but none that I know of in Rochester.

The RHA is municipal agency that provides low-cost, taxpayer-supplemented housing to those with limited incomes. For example, you can only afford $200 for housing for you and your family. The RHA puts you up in an apartment and tax dollars kick in the other $600/month for your $800 apartment.

These housing complexes are commonly known as "the projects."

The Rochester Housing Authority doesn't have it's own police force, but I do believe there's security at their complexes.
