A NYS Trooper was shot/killed right by my house...literally right by my house. Please pray for them and their family as details emerge!

The great irony is that he lost his life doing something that he loves. Nobody can ever take that away. Once a lawman always a lawman.

Check that, They didn't apologize. They explained.

Glad you cancelled your subscription. I hope agencies in that area never give another press release or interview to that disgusting thing they call a newspaper.

I'm not going to name names but someone from the paper called someone who he is 'friends' with, someone high up in Division, the day the picture came out and wanted to talk... he was basically told that the Star Gazette would get nothing from the NYSP anymore. The person from the paper tried to do a lot of smooth talking and provided several excuses of why the picture was taken and printed. Someone from the paper said they make an effort to fix what they had done, the next day in the paper... no apology.... just more excuses.

A special thanks to those Louisiana Troopers that came all the way to Rochester to attend the funeral. It meant a lot.

Last week I called and cancelled the paper's delivery to the station.

I asked for the circulation manager, identified myself by name and title, and told them to stop delivery to the station. I heard a sigh, and then "OK."
I was never asked why. They know.

"Extra attention" could be considered harassment and the Major is getting tired of seeing me since I work in the barracks the farthest from Troop Headquarters.

Discression, on the other hand, is a beautiful thing... I don't have to write the lady who works at BK, Dunkin Donuts, and the grocery store just to put food on the table for her family, who can't afford to buy a new muffler, but I sure can write columnist, who showed up at CP expecting to be greeted with open arms the day the picture came out, who is going 45/35 on his way home.
