There had been a thread a month or so back. Officers were asking about internet predator training, etc. Info only- there is some upcoming training from OCPA.

Dates: 3/16/06 in the ODOT Auditorium in Columbus, Ohio
3/28/06 at the Medina County Sheriff's Office

Times: Both trainings are being conducted from 1200 - 1600

Cost: Training is only $40

Additionally, they will also be conducting a "Parents Training Session" on the same dates later in the evening at Reynoldsburg Middle School and at Highland High School in Medina. This is a great opportunity to expose parents to the seriousness of this problem.

Training is being conducted by Alonzo Wilson and Darrin Barlow of Xenia Police. I have worked as an officer with these guys and they surely know their stuff. It is a great opportunity to get exposed to this problem and to make contacts for further training or for organizing a unit within your department.

To register, contact Ohio Crime Prevention Association, 614-718-3211- Brenda Kuba (pronounced Ku-bey)

Hope this helps, be safe

I took the training from Det's Wilson and Barlow a while back. You're absolutely right...they are EXCELLENT at internet crime investigation. Their dedication is evident from what they went through to establish the (extremely successful) unit in Xenia. Highly recommended training for a department that's looking to establish an internet crimes unit.
